The Biography of

The Pilgrim School

Pilgrim School was established in 1958 by the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.   Pilgrim students benefit  from the school's association with First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, where education is one of its primary missions.  In fact, Congregationalists founded some of the nation's top universities, including Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale and Wellesley.

Pilgrim School is a co-educational, private, college preparatory school that educates students from preschool through twelfth grade.  It prides itself on being one of the first private schools with a focus on ethnic diversity.  Pilgrim School is also a wealth of curricular, standards-based treasures that span every aspect of education, including the arts.  Excellence is tantamount in producing diamonds of student achievement.

The Congregationalists also founded the first of several Black institutions of
higher education, including Hampton College and Howard University.   It is from this tradition that Pilgrim School welcomes children of all faiths and backgrounds.  For more information, please visit Pilgrim School's web site by
